Jute a natural fibre, obtained from the bark of the jute plant has remarkable strength and durability. It is fully biodegradable and eco-friendly materials. A hectare of jute plants consumes about 15 tons of carbon dioxide and releases 11 tons of oxygen. Our Jute bags are certified under the Fair Trade, which means no harmful chemical pesticides are used in the production of the of the jute and artisans must work under safe conditions with an agreed minimum wage.

SHOHOJOGITA was started to give women an opportunity for a better life. We collaborate with artisans and organizations helping women in difficult circumstances in Bangladesh, especially rural women ONLY. These women have never had the chances we have had, yet they are just like us in so many ways.
