In the tranquil rural villages of Kushtia, Gazipur and Birishiri in Bangladesh, 140 women are involved in creating exquisite items using the traditional skills of Nakshikantha embroidery. Patience, perfection and creativity are necessary attributes for every artisan who hand works this highly skilled embroidery. By securing markets for their embroidery work, the artisans, many whom are single, divorced or widowed are able to earn an income which is vital in their struggle to survive.

The principal vision is to help the rural poor, widowed, divorced and helpless women by creating employment for them. Product Description

Spectacular in design and creativity is the circular jungle mobile with the six textile animals embellished with delicate hand embroidery. A tropical bird hangs from above the animals. There is the giraffe, the zebra, the crocodile, the elephant, the rhinoceros and the Okapi. The animals differ in size but the giraffe is the largest being 20cms tall.

Depicting the coldness yet the extreme beauty of the Arctic, is this enchanting mobile. The detail in the individual creatures is brilliant. Hanging from the central focus of the igloo at the top of the mobile are six creatures which can be found in the Arctic region. There is the snow goose, the snow owl, the polar bear, the begula whale, the seal and walrus.
